Intheearly'90s,theYugoslavianGovernmentcancelledtheautonomyofKosovo,dissolveditsParliamentandcloseddowntheNationalTelevision.Allinstitutionallifewasreorganizedbythenewauthorities,whilethemajorityofthecitizensrespondedwithpeacefuldemonstrations.Duringthisterribletime,Fadili,whoworksasanarchivist,hastochoosebetweentwooptions,knowingthatbothofthemarewrong.Hethereforeinvoluntarilyandunwillingly"swallows"theshame,enduresthepressurebearingdownfromallsidesandputsupwiththebadreputationforonlyonereason:toprovideforhisfamily.
